25 Days of Christ
Hello all!
I took a break (okay... a long break) from this blog. But, now that I have a shiny new computer (and a lot of thoughts in my head) I am going to start up again!
This year brought many changes for the Campos Clan. In December of last year, instead of decking the halls and dreaming of sugar plums we were packing up our home of almost 8 years to move 1000 miles back across the country. Bryan got a new job. Which was amazing and definitely an answer to our prayers. But, packing up and leaving my beloved Sidney, Nebraska and all of my family I had made there was NOT what I wanted to be doing.
But, all things considered, last Christmas was pretty amazing. We spent Christmas with our immediate family! Something that was not easily done in the past. What used to be a 2 day, 20 hour drive across Southern Wyoming (the armpit of America, in my opinion), now only took 3 1/2 hours! The kiddos were able to share Christmas excitement and memories with their cousins, and the mommas and daddies got to sit around and spend some relaxed quality time. It was the greatest Christmas gift I could've asked for.
Fast forward to this Christmas season. Now we are settled in here in Las Vegas. The kids have an amazing school, great friends and we have an amazing ward! Our home is beautiful and the weather is probably at the top of my Vegas favorites list. And, now that we are comfy here, this year I really wanted to enjoy this special time and focus more on the reason for the Season: Jesus Christ.
This year we are doing the 25 days of Christ. You've heard of the 25 days of Christmas- it's like that, but instead of watching a different Christmas movie every night on ABC Family, we are learning a new name for the Savior and reading the accompanying scripture every night until Christmas day.
It has been a really wonderful experience. The kids have loved it every night so far. They didn't know that the Savior had so many amazing names. I am so grateful I get to feel closer to my Savior and share these precious moments of learning with my family. It has already brought such a sweet spirit into our home, and I already see small changes here and there in mine and the kids attitudes. Centering our home on Christ really has made all the difference.
